That's How The Story Begins

It's a short drop, from where I stand
To where I touch the ground
But it's, so hard to get up, once I'm down
It's a long way, from anywhere
To the outskirts of this town
It's not lost of me, that I was lost when found

And it's a, straight shot to Paradise
From the muddy Mississippi
But it, takes a while to reach, the other side
And it's a, quick drive from L.A.
To the shores of the Pacific
And here or there, the stars come out at night
Up and down it goes, all around it throws
Caution into the wind
In and outta sight, if in doubt ask why
That's how the story begins
There's a road through old New Mexico
That's seldom often travelled
A blacktop, through the white sands, rolling by
The children of the childless son
Have a father of all time
And a mother of a spaceship in the sky

Now you, gotta wonder if what I say
Is what I understand
Cuz there's, really nothing left to alibi
If I, use my heart to speak my mind
The honest always listen
But no one, will hear me if I lie

--Repeat Chorus--

You know I love you
And you love me too
--Repeat Chorus--
